FCI Exam Pattern



Food Corporation of India(FCI) has finally released the notification for various posts for a total of 4103 vacancies. Interested aspirants can apply online for various posts under FCI right from 28 February 2019 until 30th March 2019 as per the latest  update on the official website of FCI.  Now, speaking of the exam pattern, it may differ according to the post you applied for. There are different papers for different posts. Here are some details regarding the same.
NOTE: A candidate can apply in any one zone and for only one post within a particular zone.

FCI 2019 Selection Process

For all posts except the Post of Typist (Hindi) (Post code-E) & Post of Steno. Grade-II (Post code-C)

FCI Exam Pattern 2019

The online test will comprise of Phase-I and Phase-II exams. The online exam of Phase-I shall be common irrespective of the post. Phase II comprises of different papers according to the posts you applied for.
NOTE-: Online Test will be bilingual i.e. in English and Hindi except for language papers.

 FCI Exam Pattern: PHASE I

The test structure for Phase I Online exam is as follow:-

  • The test will be Objective type (Multiple Choice Questions).
  • Each question will carry equal 01 (one) mark.
  • There will be negative marking of one-fourth (1/4) of the mark assigned to that question.
  • The marks obtained in Phase-I will not be reckoned in final merit ranking.

Subjects-> Reasoning/General Intelligence, English Language, Computer Proficiency, General Awareness, Current Events, Data Analysis/Numerical Ability/Data Interpretation.

Paper-II (Duration-60 minutes) :

Subject-> Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering (relevant stream)

60 Multiple Choice Questions
Subject-> Commerce particularly General Accounting and Finance (Relevant stream)
Post Code H {Assistant Grade-III (Technical)}
60 Multiple Choice Questions on any one of the following groups(chosen by the candidate):
  • Group-A: Agriculture, Botany and Zoology
  • Group-B: Agriculture, Chemistry and Physics

Paper-III (Duration-90 minutes)

Post Code D {Assistant Grade-II (Hindi)}, and Post Code E {Typist (Hindi).

Subjects-> General Hindi, General English, General Awareness, General Intelligence and Computer Knowledge for candidates applying for

Paper-IV (Duration-90 minutes) (Subjective Test):

Post Code D {Assistant Grade-II (Hindi)}.
Translation – 2 Passages, one each from Hindi to English and vice-versa
This online test will be subjective type. Each Question will carry 60 marks and the maximum marks for the Paper-IV would be 120.
Candidate should be able to use following keyboard layouts:
1. Inscript
2. Remington (GAIL)

Paper-V (Duration-90 minutes):

Post Code C {Steno. Grade-II}
120 Multiple Choice Questions
Subjects-> General English, General Awareness, General Intelligence and Computer Knowledge (with specific reference to MS Word and Internet)

SKILL TEST

For Typist (Hindi) (Post code-E)
  • Skill-Test in typing in Hindi which will be of qualifying nature.
  • The final merit will be decided on the basis of Paper-III.
For Steno. Grade-II (Post code-C)
  • Skill-Test in typing and shorthand which will be of qualifying nature. The language of Skill Test i.e (Typing, Short Hand) will be in English.
  • The final merit will be decided on the basis of Paper-V subject to qualifying the Skill Test.

DOCUMENT VERIFICATION

  • The Online test and skill test (wherever applicable) shall be followed by document verification stage for the candidates provisionally selected on the basis of the merit.
  • The number of Candidates to be called for document verification may be equal to three times the number of advertised vacancies.
